Our Team

I have a simple philosophy in life. Getting your day off on the right foot starts with a great coffee and a great shave. Finding good coffee is easy, but I just never found a shave preparation I liked. So I developed my own. 'OSCAR' is my way of ensuring anyone can get a great shave without breaking the bank.

We've already mastered shaving Down Under

Say G'day to Australia's highest-rated razor. Like Crocodile Dundee, the Hemsworth brothers and Hugh Jackman, Aussie favourites are best shared with Americans.

We're on a mission to create the very best shave experience for men (and women) selling razors and natural shave preparations direct to you.  That means great quality, while saving you time and money.

Our Story

We started our journey in Australia a few years ago on a shoestring budget, using off-the-shelf software and our first edition, German-made razor.

In mid-2018 we launched the OSCAR 2.0, our American-made razor.  The results have been amazing.

It's now Australia’s highest-rated razor with a 4.74 star rating from 2,600+ reviews!

There's no need for us to tell you how good it is.  Just read our customer reviews.

Over 2,600 and counting...

Born in the USA

Millions of Americans buy their razors from Dollar Shave Club and Harry's, which are made in Korea and Germany respectively.

There is nothing wrong with Korean or German made products of course. Hyundai has come a long way and who doesn't love German cars - think Porsche 911. Arguably the greatest car ever.

When it comes to razors though, we believe American-made beats German-made.

WHY? We started out with the same German razors as used by Harry's. When we changed over, our customers overwhelmingly said they preferred our new American-made 2.0 model.

Nuff said.

OSCAR Natural® | Made for Sensitive Skin

Just like a racing car requires high-performance tires, you cannot have a great shave without a great shave preparation.

The fact is shaving can be deeply uncomfortable for people with sensitive skin as the chemicals in most shave gels, foams and creams can leave your skin feeling irritated, causing 'razor burn'.

So we developed the perfect solution. Using natural ingredients and extensively developed in Australia, we are particularly proud of our shave preparations:

Steven from New South Wales agrees :

This gel is awesome -
no more red patches on my skin - I love it

So the question beckoned

With so many amazing reviews in Australia, which has a smaller population (25M) than Texas (29M), how well could we do in the US...

$3.4B Market

Shaving is a $3.4B market in the US and forecasted to keep growing. Traditionally, razors and shave preparations were bought in store. Running out meant another trip to the store.

That all changed over the past decade with the exponential growth of online sales. Convenience started from your keyboard.

COVID-19 has created a seismic shift to online shopping

  • E-commerce share of total retail sales has been growing relentlessly.
  • Health/beauty/personal care category up by 32.4%.
  • Americans spend over $2,000 per year online (2020).

Direct-to-Consumer

Subscriptions for everyday items are becoming ever more popular.  Let's face it, who doesn't appreciate the convenience of home delivery - saving money and time without having to wear a mask.

By asking the question ‘How often do you shave’ we ensure customers get the exact amount of razors they need.

The graph below shows our subscribers' shaving habits in Australia.

Subscription Economy - 60% compound annual growth

According to a report by Fuel,  a McKinsey company,  the subscription E-commerce market has grown at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of nearly 60 percent since 2014.

'Better Than a Man Thought He Could Ever Get'

Today's consumers, especially younger generations, look for solutions, not features. They want convenience and expect great quality without paying more.

Rather than brands claiming they're 'The best a man can get',  these days customer reviews and recommendations from friends, family and others are far more important.  Customers are king now.

    'Every Shave Makes a Difference'

Increasingly people also prefer brands that have a social conscience.  In Australia, OSCAR orders are assembled and fulfilled by Beehive Industries, a Not-for-Profit Social Enterprise supporting seniors and people living with a disability.

By contracting Beehive to do this work, not only are we helping them fund important social support programs for people in need, we are also creating training and support opportunities in a truly socially inclusive environment.

It's a seamless way of combining 'Profit with Purpose'.  You can find out more about Beehive here

Our goal is to find a similar cause in the US and create positive social impact, a cause close to our heart.

    Next... the planet.

Reducing our carbon footprint is something we take very seriously, so we choose to use sustainable practices in every part of our business.

Firstly, we’ve teamed up with CarbonClick, a New Zealand company making it easy for people and businesses to help fight climate change.

CarbonClick looks like a green button at checkout. When you click on it, a small contribution is added to your basket which purchases carbon offsets.  These offsets reduce the environmental impact of the carbon emissions related to the purchase.

CarbonClick’s offsets fund forest restoration, tree planting, and renewable energy projects around the world, such as Doe Mountain in the Southern Blue Ridge region, Tennessee.

    Compostable Packaging

To further reduce our carbon footprint, all razor refills are despatched in special
comPOST® Packs, made from totally biodegradable and compostable materials.

That means you can put in with food and garden waste and they will break down within months.

If you're still sitting on the fence, we've saved the best till last...

    INVESTOR PERKS FOR EVERYONE...

    INVEST $100 | Intro Pack

Includes our perfectly weighted OSCAR handle which fits into your hand like a glove as well as 4 x 5-blade razors.

INVEST $150 | Intro Pack + Shave Gel

We'll include a full-size bottle of OSCAR Natural® Shave Gel, some say the greatest shave preparation ever.  It took us over 18 months development before we were satisfied with the formulation.

Who knew shaving could feel so good...

INVEST $250 | Luxury Gift Box

This stunning Box contains our premium 'OSCAR' handle, a baker's dozen (13 for those who don't eat bread) of American-made razors and our Aloe Vera-based natural Shave Gel.

For the 'follicly challenged' or if you only shave once or twice per week, this should last you a year.

INVEST $500 | Regular shave plan

That beautiful Gift Box again plus another 36 razors - equivalent to a year's supply based on our 'Regular' shave plan.  So 49 razors in total.

Ideal for those who shave 5-7 times per week.  (Three weeks of no shaving permitted per year).

    SO C'MON...

Unlike Dollar Shave Club, we don't have the luxury of being owned by a multi-billion dollar parent company like Unilever.

But remember David and Goliath. You don't have to be the biggest to win.

This is your opportunity to help us build America's favourite shave brand
